The standards are
used in all Florida schools to help with consistency around all classrooms. A
standard that incorporates technology is ELA.7.C.5.2 using digital tools to
produce writing. This standard helps with English and writing essays online to
publish. I do feel prepared to implement this standard based on my skill set
because I use this tool with college and writing my essays and assignments and
I use technology to do this in almost every class.
My standard for my first-grade class that I am focusing on is solving additional problems with sums between 0 and 20 and subtraction problems using related facts. These resources can be used in my teaching because they explain lesson plans and each lesson plan has different types of activities that the students can interact with each other and with tools. Each lesson plan and text resources can help when you do not have ideas on a certain topic.
It is important to be proficient internet searchers because when teaching students, you need to be able to present them with correct information while also being up to date with certain news and teachers are sometimes at a time crunch. It is important to be as fast and efficient as possible when looking up certain details. You also do not want to be wrong and teach your students the wrong things. I will use the advanced search the most because I want to be able to make sure everything, I am teaching is correct and I can restrict certain words and images.
My initial thoughts about using AI in K-12 setting are mixed. I believe that it could be a useful tool if you are looking up definitions or trying to get a better understanding of a topic, but it could be harmful because students could be copying word for word and cheating on assignments and not learning and using their full potential to do their assignments. When using AI, it affects the way students think, and they will fail their tests and not comprehend the assignment topic.
